Plasticolors, Ashtabula, OH are pleased to announce their new UCD TM Colorants/MDS line of low VOC dispersions designed for light to heavy duty solvent-based coatings. They are compatible in thermoplastic or thermosetting acrylic, alkyd, polyester, epoxy, vinyl and urethane systems. All components will be compatible with aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and ethers and will offer the formulater lower VOC coatings.
Tertiary butyl acetate(TBA) is used as the primary solvent in the MDS colorants which is an exempt solvent in most NAFTA regions and allows to formulate lower VOC coatings. The dispersing vehicle is a blend of proprietary resins are non-functional and will not cross-link in the final film.
